  Tie Care

To maximize the longevity of your tie, you should pay attention to the following:

Ties should be stored lying flat, hanged or rolled up and well protected from beeing compressed.

Use the iron on lowest temperature to carefully iron out small wrinkles. If this didn't help, activate the steam function of your iron and glide over your tie without touching it and then try again to get the wrinkles away by ironing on lowest temperature only. Alternatively, you can carefully moisten the wrinkles a little bit and try to iron them out afterwards (do not make the wrinkels wet, because lime spots may remain visible).

Spot removal and cleaning
Unfortunately, it is not easy to clean ties without damaging them. It may be obvious that ties should not be machine washed. But one should also bring it to the dry-cleaner only if there is no other way.

In principal, Polyester ties can be cleaned more successfully than handmade silk ties. Silk is a precious and sensitive natural product which will be damaged rapidly when cleaned incautiously or too often. Also, the stitching of handmade ties can break a lot easier then the one from machine-made products. As for ties, it unfortunately is the case that high quality products survive chemical cleaning less often then cheap fabrications.

As for spots, it is important that they are being treated immediatly and carefully. Use a clean knife to scrape fresh spots of any liquids and then try to dab it out with a fine, moistened towel.

The zipper of our pre-tied tie "Lazytie" is very solid and easy to open/close. Nevertheless, it is important that you always hold the loop in the middle to open the zipper tie. When closing the zipper, take care that the loop is not twisted, because the zipper's teeth couldn't fit perfectly.

If the zipper system should stop once, do not try to close it by application of force: Fully open the zipper and put both sides of the zipper in the right position before closing it again. If the problem remains, put the Lazytie around your neck and open and close the zipper a few times: the loop will be stabilized by your neck what will help the zipper to work again smoothly.
